An excursion to Ahmedabad!

Amidst second semester exams, we had started planning to visit Ahmedabad, known to be the most vivacious city of Gujarat. Exams got over and we all rejuvenated. Next morning of the exams, I and Saurabh went to play Table Tennis as we were unable to play for a long time. After being satiated by the pleasure of playing it, we arrived at the Cafeteria. We met Vineet there at the seating arena and we started making plans for an outing in Ahmedabad the same day. Meanwhile, Vineet called ladies. By 10 in the morning, the plan was done. Meeting at 1500 hrs, at the LP (lotus pond) was decided. Lotus pond being the universal gathering spot for any outing!

While all other got dispersed to their respective lodgings, I and Saurabh walked our way to Salon to have a hair cut. It took about 1 hour and we were at the campus at 11:30 am. Bathed, slept, freshened up and ready to set out.

We hired autos to infocity (shopping complex nearby) and a private cab thereafter for the rest of the way.
By 4:30 we were at the ISKON chowk, where the cab dropped us. On the other side of the road was the ISKON temple where we walked to. I couldn't go to a temple since I came here at DA and was really having a pious feeling at that point. After worshiping the deities, we spent some time sitting there and listening to the divine music. At around 5:30, we headed towards the nearby bus stop to catch the bus to Nehru Nagar which is famous for its street market. Spending some time at the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) bus stop was also fun!

It was 6:15 when we reached Nehru Nagar. It was cramped possibly because of festive season around. There was nothing for men except for some street side snacks. The market mainly showcased ladies wear. Chaniya Choli being the favorite offering from vendors because of Navratra season. Girls got busy marketing while the guys engaged themselves in checking out the environment as no stuff was offered for men! At around 6:45, we entered into an outlet showcasing a large variety of clothing. After spending half an hour, we got one pair each for Vineet and Pramod, of shorts.

Without wasting anymore time, we straight away went to the bus stop to catch bus for Kakaria. Kakaria is famous for its lake 'Kakaria Lake'. It is one of the biggest lakes in Ahmedabad. The lake along with the market around it was properly lightened. Although recognized as a 'Lake', the spot showcased all the activities that could be engaged in to make a whole day entertaining. It consisted of toy train, safari balloon, Kids city, Nagina Wadi (a small island in the center of the lake), Dutch Tombs and lots of restaurants and joints to take the pleasure of delicacies. It was around 9:15 and our voracity showed up. Ergo, without much discussions, we presided at one of the eateries. Ordered almost everything we wanted to down and experienced the flavors of every viand. The food was luscious, indeed!

The watch showed 10:30 and now the tension evoked among girls. Girls have to check in at the hostel by 12! Hastily, we caught up autos to Iskon chowk. Alighted and hired autos to the final destination. While our way to the campus, downpour started. This made the journey back campus awesome. Having the flashes of the day conjured up, we finally reached, at 11:57!
Perfect timing for the girls to check in at the hostels!
